Welcome to Orchard Lake Elementary

Founded 1969

Orchard Lake Elementary is a K-5 school community of about 360 students. We seek to support the whole child as they grow and develop academically, socially, emotionally and civically. We want our students to be supported with a growth mindset that provides them the opportunity to engage their learning.

Our work with students is grounded in the belief that each child deserves a personalized approach to their learning so they can fully develop a growth mindset about their future. Our staff is passionate about building relationships with students and families to meet individual needs. We focus on the development of respect, responsibility, safety and kindness. Our families are passionate about creating a strong sense of community and serve our school in many different ways. 

Orchard Lake Elementary is home to two instructional models.  Our school community is focused on meeting the needs of all learners in both our standard classrooms and our Impact Academy program. Each instructional model seeks to create a personalized learning environment to meet student’s needs. Our school focuses on incorporating three key learning areas: Future Ready Skills, Personalized Learning and Service Learning. 

Our Impact Academy program us a community of students grades 1st-5th  and 5 teachers learn together. This personalized learning environment is created by having students learn at their “just right”  levels in the areas of reading and math. Together students and teachers design a pathway of learning to maximize personal interests and talents. Integration of content areas connect learning to real world problems in the service-learning module.
